• Very first customer was Greta Garbo
• Made Elizabeth Taylor’s wedding bouquet for her 1964 marriage to Richard Burton
• Became friends with Lee Radziwill, sister of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis
• Eventually came to do the flowers for the dinner parties that Ms. Kennedy Onassis would host at her Park Avenue penthouse
• For 33 years was the manager of special events and master floral arranger at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan
• In his role at the Met, Mr. Giftos greeted such guests as Nancy Reagan, Martha Stewart and Oprah Winfrey (was also a guest on their TV shows), Bill Gates, George Bush, the Clintons, and Prince Charles and Princess Diana and many more!
